WAUWATOSA, WI (April 10, 2019) - A rematch between the Bryant & Stratton College baseball team (7-14) and Rock Valley Community College resulted with a pair of losses for the Bobcats on Tuesday afternoon as the Golden Eagles took game one 4-3 and game two 15-7.
Bryant & Stratton split with Rock Valley earlier this season on the road with a 4-0 loss in game one and 5-4 win in game two.
Game one vs Rock Valley College (4-3 Loss)
A strong defensive game from both teams led to a 1-1 score after four innings.
In the top of the fifth, the Golden Eagles managed to score two runs which provided a 3-1 advantage.
The Bobcats earned one of those runs back in the bottom of the inning after David Paleo (Fr.) singled on a ground ball up the middle.
In the top of the sixth, Rock Valley scored one-run after a line-drive double to left field to hold a 4-2 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth.
In need of a late push, the Bobcats failed to get over the two-run deficit as they earned just one-run in the final two innings.
Ryan Kalinowski (Fr.) produced three hits and one RBI in the game.
Eloy Puentes (Fr.) tossed all seven innings allowing four earned runs while striking out three.
Game two vs Rock Valley College (15-7 Loss)
In game two, the Bobcats found themsleves trailing early after letting up four runs in the top of the second but quickly bounced back with four of their own in the bottom of the inning.
With bases loaded, Alex Sadowski (So.) singled on a line drive to right field bringing in two runs to trail just 4-2.
At the next at-bat, Paleo drove in the final two runs of the inning on a single to left field to even the score at four a-piece.
A scoreless third-inning led to the Golden Eagles putting up four more runs in the top of the fourth taking an 8-4 edge.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Bobcats put up three-runs of their own but that was not enough to earn the victory as the Golden Eagles tacked on three additional runs in the sixth and four in the seventh.
Sadowski finished the game with two hits and two RBI's while Parker Walker (So.) produced two hits and an RBI of his own.
Starting pitcher, Dominick Meyer, tossed three innings while giving up eight earned runs.

Bryant & Stratton will have a few days off before returning to action as they host Kankakee Community College on Saturday for a double header.
First pitch of game one will be thrown at 12:00pm.
