Bryant & Stratton College splits road doubleheader with Spartans
ELGIN, Wis — The Bryant & Stratton College baseball team played its third consecutive doubleheader in four days. It traveled to Elgin to take on the Spartans and split while scoring 13 total runs.
Game 1 | Bryant & Stratton 8, Elgin CC 6
The Bobcats scored two runs in the top of the second inning after Anthony Sacchetti doubled and Deacan Koback singled. Elgin tied the game in it half of the inning, but Brayden Pleau gave the Bobcats the lead again in the third with a single. The Spartans also allowed one more run in the innings after committing an error.
Elgin took a 6-4 lead through five innings, but the Bobcats' offense rallied in the top of the sixth.
Sacchetti opened with a triple, but after a Luis Serrano single, the Bobcats plated two runs following an error by Elgin. Pleau came to the plate for the fourth time, drove a single to left field, and brought in two runs, giving the Bobcats an 8-6 lead.
Jack Grable opened the game for Bryant & Stratton College and he gave up two hits and two runs over 1⅔ innings, striking out three and walking four. Alex Breckheimer tossed two innings of scoreless ball for Bryant & Stratton College in relief. He surrendered one hit, striking out three and walking one.

Game 2 | Elgin CC 13, Bryant & Statton 5
Bryant & Stratton College baseball struggled to keep up with the Elgin Spartans in a 13-5 loss on Sunday.
In the top of the second inning, Bryant & Stratton College grabbed the lead after singles by Easton Snow singled and Pleau. They both followed Carlos Walta, who homered to right field.
Elgin took the lead back, but a double by Thomas Hunt in the top of the third tied the game at five. That would be all the offense Bryant & Stattaon put together and the Sparntas rattled off eight runs to grab the victory.
