Bobcats bounce back, end five game skid
MILWAUKEE — After losing the first game, the Bobcats sent Jack Grable (2-2) to the mound. It was his fifth appearance for Bryant & Stratton College baseball, and he pitched well, striking out five batters in four innings of work. Josh Opiola relieved Grable and struck out three batters in three innings of work.
The offense also came to life, and Jedvier Garcia led the way with four hits in five at-bats and three RBIs. Brayden Pleau went 3-for-4, Ryan Weed went 2-for-5, and Carlos Walta went 1-for-4. Those three combined for six RBIs. Wendell Waukau also got it on in the offense with one hit and one RBI.
Bryant & Stratton accumulated a four-run lead through the first three innings, but the Braves rallied in the bottom of the fourth to bring the Bobcats' lead to one run.
Both squads went scoreless in the fifth inning following the Braves; rally, but the Bobcats would add to their lead in the sixth inning. Connor Kalinowski kicked things off with a walk, and following a single from Garcia, the Bobcats rattled off three consecutive doubles, extending the lead to six runs.
The Braves added one more run in the bottom of the sixth, but the Bobcats walked away with their fifth win of the season.
The Bobcats are back in action on Wednesday when they take on MATC at 3 p.m.
