Bobcats drop first game to Braves
MILWAUKEE — The baseball team at Bryant & Stratton College went south to Illinois to take on the Black Hawk College Braves in a doubleheader on March 24.
Looking to end a four-game skid, the Bobcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead thanks to Thomas Hunt, who drove in Alex Esser, who reached on a walk. However, that would be the only run the Bobcats would muster against Braves pitcher Mason Lynch.
Lynch pitched a complete game, allowing only two hits and striking out seven batters.
Alex Breckheimer (2-3) took the mound for the Bobcats and was off to a strong start, allowing only one run through two innings of work. But over the next three innings, he would allow six runs. Breckheimer also struck out batters. Jordan Pope also took the mound, making his third appearance, and completed one inning.
With the loss, the Bobcats' losing streak reached five games, but they were to bounce back in the second game.
