WAUWATOSA, WI (April 4,2019) - Bryant & Stratton College-Wisconsin head men's basketball coach Matt Majkrzak has brought on Austin Hawkins as an assistant coach and athletic academic advisor for the 2019 season.
The Auburndale, WI native comes from Quincy University (NCAA Division II) where he acted as the head assistant coach while also serving as the post developmental coach, strength and conditioning coach, camp director and social media coordinator.
"We are thrilled to welcome Austin to Bobcat Nation," Majkrzak said. "Austin is a high energy coach who has worked under a number of elite coaches. We feel very fortunate to have him join what is already an outstanding staff with Troy Coleman and Brian Garner."
Prior to Quincy, Hawkins served as a graduate assistant for the Winona State University men's basketball program where he helped the team achieve a 19-10 record. In his time at Winona, Hawkins was involved in all aspects of the program, including individual workouts, scouting, recruiting, camp coordination and social media.
"When Coach Majkrzak approached me about this opportunity I knew it was something I needed to pursue," Hawkins said. "He has already laid a great foundation here at Bryant & Stratton and we will only continue to build on that."
As a player, Hawkins competed collegiately for Concordia College (NCAA Division III) in Moorehead, MN under legendary head coach Rich Glas.
Hawkins will join a competitive Bryant & Stratton program that reached the Region IV Championship game while amassing a 25-8 overall record under Majkrzak's inaugural season.
"With the recruiting connections I have developed in the surrounding states we will be able to pursue a wide array of talent that is capable of helping us compete consistently at the national level."
Bryant & Stratton College launched NJCAA athletics in 2016 starting with men's and women's basketball and has expanded their department to 14 athletic programs.
