Bio
Charles Ruffing is entering his second season as head men’s basketball coach at Bryant & Stratton College. He led the Bobcats to 23-10 record last season and to the Region 4 championship game.
Ruffing has numerous years of collegiate coaching experience, that inlcudes being the assistant coach at NCAA Division III Marian University. He helped guide the Sabres to their second NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, including a 15-win improvement from the season prior to his arrival. He also held assistant coaching positions at Wisconsin Lutheran College and Rockford University. He helped lead WLC to 16 conference wins during the 2019-2020 season, the most in a single season for the program. As a member of the Regents’ coaching staff, Rockford set a program record for conference wins during the 2018-2019 season, and reached the NACC Tournament for the first time since 2012.
Ruffing led the West Bend East varsity boys’ basketball team to its first WIAA DI Regional Championship in 20 years in his lone season as head coach.
The De Pere native spent his playing career at Marian University and Concordia University Chicago. He played 50 games with the Sabres and recorded 86 points, 64 rebounds and 80 assists. As a sophomore, he recorded 58 assists, which was the second most for the team that season. His final two seasons at Concordia-Chicago and he went on to be named a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) scholar-athlete as a senior.
