MILWAUKEE, WI (November 27, 2017) – The Bryant & Stratton College women's basketball team hosted their second home game of the season on Saturday where they defeated the Carl Sandburg College Chargers 83-55. A resounding win for the Bobcats puts them at 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the region.
The Chargers fall to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in region play.
From the tip, the Bobcats came out running as they jumped out to a double-digit lead to end the first quarter.
"Our ball movement and spacing was very good," Bobcats head coach Jeff Lorenz said. "Everyone contributed and we made very few mental mistakes."
Throughout the second quarter the Bobcats continued to push the ball in transition and pressure full-court on the defensive side of the ball. With 4:30 remaining in the half, the Bobcats extended the lead to 18 points.
Despite the Chargers attempting to go on multiple runs, the Bobcats led 50-31 at the half.
"It is very important to not let up and to keep attacking the opposition even when you are up by a lot," Lorenz said. "It is easy to get complacent; so I am proud of how we performed."
The Bobcats continued to get in the passing lanes defensively throughout the third quarter which led to a 69-41 lead at the start of the fourth. From that point on the Bobcats never looked back and went on their way to capture their seventh win of the season.
Ashley Quezaire (Milwaukee, WI) led the way for the Bobcats with 17 points and five rebounds off the bench. Ayisha Bentley-Junior (Milwaukee, WI) followed with 12 points off the bench.
Kiara Donaldson (Milwaukee, WI) tacked on a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Bobcats have won six of their last seven games which includes a two-game win streak.
Up next for the Bobcats is a home contest against Madison College on Thursday at 5:30pm. The Bobcats will look to get revenge as they fell short to the Wolfpack last season 85-62.
