Trishena Brown and Tayah Christopher take home NJCAA Region 4 awards
MILWAUKEE — Postseason awards in the NJCAA are being handed out and on March 19, two Bryant & Stratton College women’s basketball players were recognized for their achievements on the court this season.
Trishena Brown was named NJCAA Region 4 Player of the Year after she averaged 21.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Brown also poured in 639 total points and shot 44.7% from the field.
“[It’s] great to have our players’ hard work recognized,” Bryant & Stratton assistant coach Mallory Liebl said. “Trishena is one of the top players in the country in our division. She can score, rebound, defend and is extremely athletic.”
Along with Brown, Tayah Christopher was named to the second-team all-region. She averaged 12 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
“Tayah is a great passer, can score and rebounds well,” Liebl said.
Both players were instrumental to the Bobcats’ success in the past season, and both will return to the court this fall and look to lead Bryant and Stratton to the national tournament.
