
Trishena Brown and Bobcats stave off Samsons
MILWAUKEE — The Bryant & Stratton College (WI) women's basketball team was back in Milwaukee for its home opener against Gogebic Community College on Monday following a tough battle with Parkland College.
Both teams combined for 11 points in the first quarter but a first quarter, but the offense made up, and the Bobcats took a 25-20 lead into halftime. Bryant & Stratton ended the half on an 8-0 run too.
Both teams found new life coming out of the second half, combing for 40 points. The Bobcats clung to a five-point lead entering the fourth quarter.
The Samsons played strong for most of the water, and they led by five points with 3:30 left in the game. However, the Bobcats stayed in the game and trailed by two with seven seconds left; Trishena Brown drove the floor and tied the game while getting fouled. Brown converted the free throw and with 2.4 seconds remaining, she sealed the game with a steal.

The Bobcats moved to 2-2 on the season, and Brown returned to the court in grand fashion, leading the Bobcats with 18 points.
Mia Ott also added 12 points of her own and recorded six rebounds and four assists.

Bryant & Stratton will head to Iowa for the Kirkwood Classic where it'll matchup against John Wood Community College and the No. 1 team in the nation: Kirkwood Community College.
